Mike believes that every child deserves a high-quality public education, regardless of where they live, this is why as Chair of the Education Committee in the New York State Assembly, he has made sure that the NYS budget includes meaningful investments that provide our children with a sound academic foundation for success.

  • Successfully fought to restore funding supportive schools, teacher training and other vital services.

  • Passed Erin’s Law to protect our children from sex offenders

  • Secured a budget that increased foundation aid to schools over the next three years

  • Successfully fought to increase the budget for Community Schools, which act as community hubs offering academic, health, mental health, social services and after-school programs to students and their families
